She looks like she's about to fly up and bite my nose of:XD: Maybe that's because I'm used to cockatiels being rather protective of their eggs:p Our tamest couple at school were like that, although they had never been able to raise any chicks:( Either the eggs never hatched, got destroyed or the chicks died within days. :cries:

I used to have a killer daddy cockatiel he was so protecive he was almost dangerous when I was in my teens he would fly at me and go for the softest part of my skin though he sucessfully raised 10 chicks two sadly had to be put to sleep as cats got a leg each through the wire.

Bliss and Brian however are really good parents and are very patcient with me they are used to me looking in on them. Jerry and Silvier who I bred last year were a bit more protective thy would either fly out of the nest or try and bite my fingers if I got too close.

I don't believe a school is the right place to breed cockatiels I reckon students were probably winding them up to the extent that they felt threatend and killed their own babies. Thats why you should enevr handle wild baby birds no matter how lost and vunrable they look.

Its not a normal school, the birds are in their own room which is locked most of the time. And we never handle the babies;) When they have eggs they are mostly left alone.

Awwww. She's so happy-looking. I thought that was why this was called "mother bliss" - like the bliss of being a mother. I didn't realize, at first, that her name was Bliss! Ironic, that.

It's a cute photograph, Rowan! She looks like she's doing a great job of keeping those eggs warm. :aww:

I had a female cockatiel years ago that laid lots of eggs. Poor skinny little girl would start making those weird chirping/laughing/warbling sounds and then get all pissy when anyone got near her cage, and in a few days, she laid an egg.
